MISS Lohan will be leaving her teenage party lifestyle behind and head back to acting, landing a lead role in a brand new comedy movie. The 22-year-old received good reviews for her performance in Mean Girls (2004), but has since panned critics. Furthermore, she was reprimanded by the executive director in Georgia Rule (2006) for "irresponsible and unprofessional" conduct as her partying and personal life overtook the reigns of her professional career.

However, Lohan will be heading back to the pictures, after landing the main role in fantasy comedy The Other Side, which tells the story of a graduate science student set on a remote island.

Daily Variety reports Director David Michaels saying, "Lindsay's very aware of people's perceptions of her. She's really committed to doing what she has to in order to change that."

Filming of the movie, which also stars Woody Harrelson and Alanis Morissette, is expected to begin in October.
